Disney’s “The Nutcracker and The Four Realms” at Cinépolis Luxury Cinema

Sharing is caring!

How do you start the holiday season off right? With a new Christmas movie, of course! This weekend, we had the chance to visit Cinépolis Luxury Cinema in Winter Garden, FL to see Disney’s “The Nutcracker and The Four Realms.” I shared my excitement for this Disney Studios movie event a few weeks ago, and we could not wait to see it for ourselves on opening weekend!

We had never visited a Cinépolis location before, and although I knew it was a “luxury cinema,” I really did not know what to expect from that term. We could not have been more pleasantly surprised! As soon as you walk into Cinépolis, you feel like you are in a luxury hotel lobby, with a bar, large screens, comfortable seating, and upscale furnishings and lighting. You order and reserve your seat online, at the ticket counter, or on the touch screens. It’s a very pleasant and unhurried experience that was in stark contrast to most movie theater lobbies.

The theaters are dine-in, with full waitstaff available at the press of a button and an extensive menu with delicious options, including a great kid’s menu. We ordered flat breads, mozzarella sticks, corn dogs for the kids, sweet potato fries, and more. It was all wonderful! Cinépolis Luxury Cinemas have the ultimate leather reclining chairs that recline almost to a fully flat position! During the film, our food was delivered to us quickly and discreetly, and we were able to easily eat on rotating tables at each seat. For a busy mom, it was great to have dinner and a movie at the same time, and arrive home without having to worry about feeding everyone! Cinépolis Luxury Cinemas are truly a step above any other theater I have ever visited. They are perfect for a family movie night, date night, or an evening out with friends. Every employee we encountered was extremely attentive and kind, and we felt truly welcomed and cherished as guests.

When Disney’s “The Nutcracker and The Four Realms” begins, one of the first things that struck me was the unbelievable artistry and beauty on the screen. The transition from the classic Disney Studios opening castle shot to the world of the Nutcracker was masterfully and seamlessly done. You are transported to a beloved land of wonder and Christmas spirit. One of the things that Disney is so well known for in both theme parks and in their movies, is creating a world that is so immersive, you lose track of your own time and space. This was certainly accomplished in “The Nutcracker and The Four Realms” as you travel with Clara through her world and the four realms.
We see a live version of the Nutcracker ballet every year, and have three little ballerinas in our house, so we are very familiar with the storyline. If you can relate, you may feel like you already know the plot of this movie. However, this is not the case at all. Disney’s “The Nutcracker and The Four Realms” is a whole new story based on the characters created in the Nutcracker ballet, with many twists and turns that any good reviewer would be careful to avoid giving away! Let me just assure you that if you think you know this story, you are wrong and will have lots to discover in this fresh new world of holiday joy and spectacle!
The visual artistry in Disney’s “The Nutcracker and The Four Realms” is astonishing, from the costuming to the sets, the soundtrack, the special effects, and of course, the dancing. Misty Copeland brings the ballet to life on screen, and her final number during the credits was a joy in itself. It is a privilege to get to see such a talented dancer on screen, in such an accessible way for children and adults of all ages. Mackenzie Foy is the perfect Clara and Kiera Knightly stuns as the Sugar Plum Fairy. I am sure this movie will quickly become a family holiday classic in our home!
