I get this question a lot. “Do you live at Disney?” “Don’t you ever get sick of going there?” “What else could you possibly have to do there?” These are all valid questions, asked by people who love me and are asking mostly in jest. I know people don’t understand how I could possibly actually enjoy going to Disney World so often. But it can’t be explained. I just do! Some people like fishing, and can do it every weekend. Other people like shopping, and do it as often as possible. Others like playing video games. You do you. I like going to Disney World. I have lots of other interests of course, but Disney World is one that I can share with my entire family, all at the same time.
It is also one of the only places in my life that I can return to, and parts of it are exactly the same as it was when I was there at the age of 5. My parents don’t live in the same house as they did when I was little. I can’t visit my elementary school easily. But I can go back to the Magic Kingdom, and some things look exactly the same as they did 30 years ago. Disney World gives my life continuity. So no, I don’t live there. But sometimes it feels like home.
